Hi there, Does anyone know if there's an on-line searchable database for Edinburgh newspapers? In Toronto, we can search two of our newspapers and it's wonderful for finding obits and news articles about ancestors. Anything similar in Edinburgh? Thanks. Jackie Toronto, Canada
The Times online is one of the Gale Databases and can be accessed via large libraries which have paid a hefty subscription. You would normally need a ticket for one of those libraries to get a remote password, although I have seen messages about libraries that operate a more open policy.
