I'm searching for my uncle's marriage & divorce details. I know he was married in Edinburgh, Midlothian - I'm guessing between 1940 - 1950. I believe he died several years ago. He was in the Navy on the King George V battleship (and my other uncle Reginald was on the Warspite) they both took part in the sinking of the Bismarck. We are actually Kent people, I am guessing that he met and married a Scots lass while they were laid up in Gareloch after the war - but that's conjecture on my part. I don't know how long they stayed in Scotland, but they had 7 children (cousins that I didn't know I had). I would also like to find out about their divorce. I'm not sure where they were divorced. I don't seem to be able to find a BDM search that covers Scotland and the ones that do only seem to go up to 1906! I am new at this but have managed to find my English people without too much trouble. Any hints for me please? I don't know where to search next, I don't want someone to do it for me really, I just would like to know where to search. Searching for details of YOUNG Harold Edward & 7 offspring.
