Good Morning I am new to the list and hope you can help. Robert Albert Maule Menzies was born at 3 Potterow in 1855 to parents Thomas Menzies and Jane McKenzie. He married Helen S Stoddart from Bridge of Allan,Stirling in Edinburgh 1878. They had 4 children Helen 1879/80, Jane 1882/83,Thomas 1884/85 and Robert 1888/89. He had his own business - Burgh Cabinet Works at Murano Place at least 1904-07 according to Edinburgh and Leith PO Directories. I believe he was involved in the business of Robert Maule and Son, Cabinetmakers, 145-149 Princes Street and 1 & 5 Hope Street in 1908/09 again from PO Directories. His home was Hawkefield House in Restalrig Road until at least 1907. I know he was alive in January 1916 (from an article in the Edinburgh Gazette Issue 12891.) Does anyone know of this elusive man? I would love to know when he died. Have tried endless times through Scotlands People without luck. The article in the Edinburgh Gazette was concerning Sequestration of a company and R A M Menzies was elected a Commissioner for the Bankruptcy hearing at the Sheriff Court House, George IV Bridge.
