Found some pics of Mid Arthur Place, you just have to put it into google. Also, from other hits this area had quite a few people in the book publishing trades - you could say then that it was an artisan area at the time although clearly the housing stock had suffered badly by 1959. Would be interested to know if your John was in a similar trade as that would be another point in favour of this being the right family.
