    3. I found a Hugh MAY, shoemaker in the 1841 census. I mention this because I have a relative Elizabeth KAY who appears in the 1881 census index as MAY even though the original is quite clear. This Hugh was born 1811 but also has a son Hugh (1840) so if my hunch is right could be a relative.
