ScotlandsPeople is a pay site which is a great resource for BMD information for Scotland - http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/ >From SP, on 14 Dec 1860, Lewis Whitelaw, age 26, mechanical engineer married Agnes Brown, age 28, domestic servant. Lewis Whitelaw's parents were listed as William Whitelaw (deceased) (I couldn't make out his occupation) and Margaret Dobie. Agnes Brown's parents were George Brown, toll collector and Margaret Stewart Alexander Dick (deceased). Margaret Dick Whitelaw was born 18 Dec 1860 in Edinburgh to Lewis Whitelaw, blacksmith and Agnes Brown. Her birth was registered by her father. Looks like Lewis and Agnes got married just in time.
