Hi listers, Have just joined hoping for some help with this brick wall. Alexander Stewart and his wife Elizabeth and their four children immigrated to South Australia as free passengers. They sailed on the Duchess of Northumberland and arrived in SA on 17.12.39. Alexander was supposedly 33 (he had to be under 35 to be accepted) and Elizabeth was supposedly 29. Their children were son 13, daughter 11, son 9 and daughter 7. This makes them very young parents !! Anyway the records here state that he was a Shepherd in Leith however I have been unable to find a marriage for them and being from Western Australia, I'm not even sure I'm looking in the right place. I believe Leith is now part of Edinburgh. Just need some advice please as to where I can find a marriage for these two people, whether there are online records or a transcript agent who could help.. The children's names are Elizabeth, Donald and Jessy. Haven't found the name of the fourth child. Cheers and thanks Janine Halls Creek WA
