Over the years I have collected original old letters and documents as & when I find them - some of them relate to Edinburgh people and its about time I start looking for the relevant families to return them to! (no payment required) this one is a hand written funeral letter with the black edging dated 24 Aug 1887 addressed to a John BLAIR of Castle St Edinburgh and reads "Sir The favour of your Company to attend the Funeral of Thomas David, my son, from this house here to the place of Interment in Grange Cemetery, on Friday the 26th Inst, at 3 o'clock, will much oblige. Sir Your most obedient Servant Eliza A. Hewit 58 Melville Street, Edinburgh 24th August 1887 Any info on this family would be appreciated to help me track the descendant. Shyama Peebles Hong Kong
