    3. I think you mean Chalmer's Buildings, which is still there, despite the frantic office development round it in recent years. It is basically a tenement block but of a slightly unusual layout. It sits at right angles to the main street and the doors are reached by a path. The main door flats have front gardens. I dont think there is any space to speak of at the rear (unlike your normal 'back green' and the back of the building faces onto the Scottish Widow office complex. It is more or less opposite Tollcross Primary School. I wonder if there is a connection to the Rev Thomas Chalmers - the history of the local chapels is a tangled one but I think the congregation that ended up at the Barclay Church had a mission or chapel in the immediate area. Its not far from Grove St anyway.
