George JACK, a bank porter, married Christian LOGAN 1 July 1800 in Edinburgh. Christian's father was an ale labourer in Tranent. They had at least 5 children: - Christian JACK, born 26 Jan 1801 in Durness, Sutherland - Margaret JACK, born 3 May 1803 in Tranent, Haddington, East Lothian - Robina JACK, born 7 April 1805 in Tranent, Haddington, East Lothian - William Graham JACK, born 18 January 1807 in Haddington, East Lothian - George JACK, born 25 April 1808 in Daviot, Aberdeen; died 15 Jul 1885 in Markinch While I have full BMD and census details on the youngest son, I have been unable to discover any birth/death/burial/siblings/census details for the parents, or any marriage/death/burial/census details for the four older children. Am willing to share findings to date with anyone else researching this family. Carolyn Canada
They seem to get about a bit. I checked out George the younger (d Markinch, cork cutter) and he seems fairly consistent that he was born in Haddingtonshire. He seems to give farm names too altho these are difficult to interpret from the Ancestry index. I was wondering what your sources were as at first sight it doesnt look like all the same family. Judy PS if you cross post like this a lot of people will get bounced messages because they hit reply all. Plus, they will not see all the replies so you wont get a coherent linear discussion.
