    3. When my husband's great grandfather, Alexander MacLennan, died in Edinburgh in 1940, the informant was his grandson. The address was as above, but the name was a signature which is illegible. Might be MacIntosh. Are there any directories available that might help us find the correct name? Regards, Virginia

The Edinburgh and Leith Post Office Directory is probably the first place to look. Not every house is listed, and my 1930-31 edition skips No 19 Hillhouse Road, but my 1948-49 edition lists a J B H McIntosh at that address, so that looks as though it confirms your theory.     3. Mr. Anderson: I note that you live in Edinburgh and have a request. A cousin, born in 1932, Mary Meechan, lived at 78 Tron Sq Canongate, married R. K. Henderson, date and city unknown. Mary and R. K Henderson lived in 1987 at 2 Bluebell Lane Galashiels Scotland. Then they disappear. I wonder if you have other directories that can refer me to a possible link-up?
