Evening Meg, My interest is with Stewart. David Stewart born 1809, exact date not known who married Janet Torrance brn 1827 they married 25 October 1847. Married at St Cuthberts. As a couple they immigrated to NZ in 1852 as Fencibles. Would love to see who witnessed, who is named as parents, either dead or alive for David. 1809 to 1847 is unknown to me. Bar the fact that David served as a Soldier, I am looking for any siblings of David. I have a lot on the Torrance side. Week of 25 October, 1847 David Stewart, Labourer, Residing in #21 Tobago Street and Janet Torrance, residing in #15, St Anthony's Place, both in this Parish, Daughter of the late Richard Torrance, Labourer there, have been Three several Times duly and regularly proclaimed in the Parish Church of Saint Cuthbert's in order to Marriage and no objections offered....Married this day by The Rev'd James Veitch, one of the Ministers of this Parish. Not much for you on David & no mention of him being a soldier, only where he lived at the time of his marriage.
