Have heard the Tiny URL link may not work for everyone, it did for me when I tried it in the post when it arrived. A Tiny URL takes you to a webpage where you clik the much longer link. Here is the base URL for Hugh Wallis's batch search method of using the IGI. With it you can search just St Cuthberts Marriages and if your particular surnames or marriages are in it, let me know the names and date. It will be much easier for me to find. The full entry is what I want to get posted, if you've been reading any of them, they're amazing for OPR entries. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchNumbers/CountryScotland.htm Select Midlothian.....scroll down to Edinburgh......scroll down to St. Cuthberts within Edinburgh. Select the Marriage column and find the batch you are interested in which will be one of these : M119901 1842-1845 M119902 1845-1849 Here is the full length URL for Scotlands's counties : http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchNumbers/CountyMidlothian.htm#PageTitle If you search for a surname using the searchbox, it will go directly to that part of the Batch. If you do not put anything in the box, it brings up the entire batch which is very helpful if you have a surname subject to many 'alternative' forms. You can view all the names in the entire batch at 200 names per page. The batch with 1842-45 is a massive one, I checked up to 1000 names and was only on the Cs. The next batch, 1845-1849 must be about the same size, when I got to 1000 names, I was also in the Cs. MegG in Oklahoma USA ===================== >
Thanks Meg for the link, I have a weekend ahead to try and look at any Stewarts born in Scotland, in 1809.
