    3. Hi Marilyn, The records that the LDS have indexed name Edinburgh Parish are indeed from the Parish of that name, which is one of several in the city, others include St. Cuthberts and Cannongate. The Parish church is St Giles also know as the High Kirk. cheers John Dods Wellington, New Zealand      Proud to be a transcriber for the freeCEN Project and volunteer for Random Acts of Geneological Kindness Ask me how you can contribute to either of these worthy projects or for other ways of helping our hobby. 3. Hi John, I noticed with the birth of their son John in 1795. The baptism was in front of the West Kirk but recorded as St Cuthberts. Was the West Kirk indeed St Cuthberts or one of the others? cheers Marilyn At 01:53 PM 15/10/2008, you wrote: >Hi Marilyn, >The records that the LDS have indexed name Edinburgh Parish are indeed >from the Parish of that name, which is one of several in the city, others >include St. Cuthberts and Cannongate. >The Parish church is St Giles also know as the High Kirk. >cheers >John Dods >Wellington, New Zealand > > > > > Proud to be a transcriber for the freeCEN Project >and volunteer for Random Acts of Geneological Kindness >Ask me how you can contribute to either of these worthy projects or for >other ways of helping our hobby. >Researching >BATTERS in Yorkshire >BENNIE in Lanarkshire, Dunbartonshire & West Lothian >BENNING in Lanarkshire & Montreal >COLLINS in California & PA >COOPER in Yorkshire >DODS in East Lothian, Berwickshire, British Columbia, Montreal, >Manchester, South Africa, Hong Kong, India >DOUGLAS in Lanarkshire >FENTON in Edinbugh >FISHER in Yorkshire >FORREST in South Africa >HAYTON in Yorkshire >HEWAT in East Lothian >LAMONT in Lanarkshire >LEGGAT in Monreal >MCLEAN in Argyllshire >RANKINE in Dunbartonshire, Perthshire >SEYMOUR in British Columbia & Montreal >SHIRREFF in East Lothian >SNELL in California, Oregeon >SUFFILL/SUFFIELD in Yorkshire >TROTTER, Lanarkshire, Stirlingshire, West Lothian >WATSON in Brantford & Barrie, Ontario. >WEIR in Argyllshire,Lanarkshie >WILLIAMSON in Edinburgh & North Berwick > > > >----- Original Message ---- >From: Watson Family <watsonb@iinet.com.au> >To: sct-edinburgh@rootsweb.com >Sent: Wednesday, October 15, 2008 12:27:22 AM >Subject: [SCT-EDINBURGH] Edinburgh Parish? > >Hi, > Can anyone tell me what is meant when the LDS just put Edinburgh Parish? >Many thanks >Cheers Marilyn > > > >------------------------------- >To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to >SCT-EDINBURGH-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the >quotes in the subject and the body of the message > > > > > > >------------------------------- >To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to >SCT-EDINBURGH-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the >quotes in the subject and the body of the message Woodcarvings and Wildlife Sculptures http://www.watsonwoodcarver.com
