if you put 'holyrood square' into google you will get quite a few hits including some interesting memories from people who lived there. If you go to Google image you will see there are a couple of pics of this housing 'scheme' on the www.edinphoto.org.uk site. It looks a bit like one at Portsburgh Square. Portsburgh was renovated, probably about 1980 and I can remember people who got a house there were considered lucky. You can see before and after pics on the same site. Holyrood Sq was long gone by then. Shame because this kind of building was good housing if well cared for but the landlords (council or private) never want to spend the cash. Imagine what the Holyrood flats would go for now, with the the Parley there! Credit crunch notwithstanding.
