Lovely. My John Philp's burial entry says: "Philp. John Philp Taylor in Leith aged 57 years died the 1st buried the 4th 1807 in the Taylors gound 2 paces west from Andrew Waugh's headstone." One of your photos shows that headstone! And so, as you were facing west, it includes the area of John Philp's burial, behind the stone. So, next time I am in Leith, I should be able to find it quite easily. This therefore points to the location of the tailors' ground.
