My husband's grandfather and greatgrandfather were publicans in Leith in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Grandfather was Stanley HILL (married Nellie MORRIS), great grandfather was John HILL (married Louisa MACKAY). In 1881 the family lived at 21, Bernard St. In 1900 Stanley lived at 8, Gladstone Place. Does anyone have a trade directory which might give the name of the pub/s in question? Any information gratefully received!
