Hi! I'm new to the mailing list, and I need some information on these ancestors of mine. Here is all of the information that I have thus far: John Bruce b. March 22, 1756 in Edinburgh, Scotland (possibly Midlothian), d. March 22, 1831 in Old Orangeburg District, SC. m. Catherine Rhodes (various spellings). Children: Elijah Bruce b. October 24, 1797 (in Old Orangeburg District, SC) d. June 15, 1849 (in Old Orangeburg District, SC); Jane Barbara Bruce b. August 25, 1799 (in in Old Orangeburg District, SC) October 11, 1849 (in Old Orangeburg District, SC). What I am looking for is information relating to the above John Bruce, who apparently immigrated from Scotland to South Carolina in the late 18th century. I have no idea where or when he married Catherine Rhodes. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Roy Bruce
