Thanks. A little confused by the 2nd sentence. I passed West Richmond Street (off Nicolson Sreet- is this the same as The Bridges?) last time I was in Edinburgh. I am up again this w/e. Richmond Lane & Richmond Place are nearby. East Richmond Street (or Richmond's Street.) - the address I'm after- might perhaps have been nearby. Do you know if the area was ever partially redeveloped? Do you know if it was ever where all the baker's hoses/shops were? James Forman, Baker was married from there in 1780. Richmond Street is part of Newington on the south side of Edinburgh. Parts of it are very up market but Richmond Street is in the poorer part just off the Bridges.
