    3. Dear Ella, Thanks. This information has enabled me to correct two assumptions I had made. Please see the List for the first. The second is that I think it very likely that the John Forman "Salt Manufacturer" from the Census [see below]born about 1852 in Inveresk is a brother of the Charles Forman "Salt Manufacturer" born about 1840 in Inveresk. He married Jane Cleuch Marshall in Tranent and had kids (whose eldest son was George) in Cockenzie. I had thought James Charles Forman BA Oxon (in Sciences), born in 1840 in Edinburgh- my relation, whose parents lived at Eskhill, Inveresk- was this person.
