Dear Listers: Searching for descendants of Alexander McLennan, born Inverness - Portree. Married Grace Urquhart (John Urquhart & Amelia Bain) of Nairn. Alex. Served with the Army in India in the 1860's - 70's. Wife Grace died there. 2 sons, John b. abt 1866 and William James b. abt 1870 both born in India. 1881 census shows Alex. as an Army Pensioner and Day Labourer living with in-law's in Delnies, Nairn. William listed as living at 29 Springwell Place, Edinburgh on Alex.'s death certificate (1902). Family story states he became a Policeman, married and had a daughter Greta.
