Hi List, I would be very pleased if S.K.S. can give me some advice on how to find the Marriage records for St. Mary's Church Edinburgh April-May of 1837. I cannot seem to find any mention of it in the L.D.S. On Line Records. Would St. Mary's be an Anglican Church or a Presbyterian one? Any help would be gratefully received.
There was/is a Catholic church named St. Mary's in Edinburgh that had started by that time (I had an ancestor baptised there in 1832). The records have not been microfilmed so you need to hire a researcher if you can't go yourself. The web site for this is at http://www.btinternet.com/~stmaryscathedral/st_marys/ There is also a St. Mary's Cathedral that is Anglican . I haven't had any ancestors there so the information about its records hasn't stuck.... But it has a web site at http://www.cathedral.net/uk/scotland/edinburgh/ep/ Hope this helps, BJ Mary & Andy McKinlay wrote: > I would be very pleased if S.K.S. can give me some advice on how to find the Marriage records for St. Mary's Church Edinburgh April-May of 1837.
