hello Rena Upper Gilmore Place is still there. There are some older houses which would probably have been there at the time and from memory some tenements which would be a bit later. The street does a kind of dog leg from Viewforth to Gilmore Place, which I believe is named after the man who used to own the land. I remember seeing it on an old map as 'Mr Gilmour's feu'. To find it on a modern map locate 'Bruntsfield Links' and head westwards. On older maps, it is just south of the canal. YOu can see it on Alan Godfrey Map 'Merchiston, Bruntsfield and North Morningside'(Edinburgh sheet 3.11) which is a reproduction of a map dated 1896.
