Hi! I just got a death certificate for my great-great grandfather´s brother, Dewar Simpson, who died January 29, 1932 at the age of 79, and his place of residence is listed as 11 Maiden Craig Cresc, Blackhall, Edinburgh. His daughter-in-law, Annie Simpson, was the informant, and she lived at the same address. His place of death was 144 Comiston Road, Edinburgh. First of all, does anybody know where these roads are? Secondly, does anybody know how to try to find a marriage certificate for Dewar´s son and daughter-in-law, Annie, without a date but only knowing it was in Edinburgh. I know that Dewar had two sons, James M. Simpson and Robert W. Simpson, according to the 1891 census for South Leith, Edinburgh. James was born in 1885 or 1884 according to the census, and Robert was born in 1888 or 1887 according to the census. Their parents were, Dewar (as I mentioned above) and Janet MONTGOMERY. Dewar himself was born on December 23, 1852 in Bonnyrigg, Cockpen, Edinburgh, as were all of his siblings except the oldest and youngest, both of which were born in Gilmerton, Liberton, Edinburgh. Dewar´s parents were, by the way, James Simpson and Margaret Simpson. Yes, her maiden name was Simpson, as well as her married name. I know that I must have a sling of Simpson relatives in Edinburgh, but it would be really difficult and expensive to send letters to all the Simpsons in Edinburgh to try to find a link with today´s Simpsons. Any suggestions? Sincerely, Russell Lentz Tallahassee, Florida, U.S.A.
