Sorry I missed the original request. John Young of Musselburgh opened his Ladywell Brewery in Fisherrow in 1830 before moving to Musselburgh around 1890 (still Ladywell Brewery). I can remember as a young man, in the 1960's, being in their office where the staff still sat on stools at high desks which had inkwells !! The firm was taken over by Whitbread Breweries in 1968. They were essentially a "local" brewery and has no connection whatever with the William Younger Brewer's. If who ever it was who posted the query gets in touch off list I can expsnd this for them.
