    3. Not sure about Theatre Royal in Shakespeare Square but I am certain there was another Theatre Royal in Edinburgh which used to have Variety Shows about sixty odd years' ago - perhaps someone local would remember more - I'd be interested in any replies to this.. Elizabeth in Oz. ex Edinburgh. Hello Elizabeth. 1876. Small Theatre in Broughton Street rebuilt and later renamed the Theatre Royal 1946. Theatre Royal burnt down and not replaced.
