    3. Dear Listers Is anyone able to point me in the right direction please with the following? My ancestor, William Murray BORTHWICK, is said to have worked on the Edinburgh Evening News / Edinburgh Post (or similar name) possibly with two of his cousins in the late 1820s and early 1830s. (He was certainly a printer and publisher of newspapers and journals, including the Clydesdale Examiner and Glasgow Chronicle. There is a lot of evidence of this for the years 1818-1822 but that is the only period I've been able to locate him.) I have been unable to discover exactly when William Murray Borthwick and his cousins worked on the newspaper in Edinburgh. It is also said that he worked on - or even that he was part-owner of - the Scotsman. This must have been either before 1818 or betweenApril 1822 and April 1833 (when he and his family set sail for Australia). Does anyone know who I might contact (the Scotsman has already told me that they don't have any information going back this far)? Would there be any libraries or archives of historical information or documents about the early days of Edinburgh newspapers and their owners/employees?
