Ann: I can relate what I've found about my second great grandfather Thomas ROBERTSON. He was most often listed as a spirits dealer, but sometimes as a merchant (I presume selling spirits). In the 1820's and 1830's he lived in Lady Yester's Parish but did business and attended church in Canongate Parish. I don't have any information about a license. Richard Robertson
