I'm intrigued by your post, since I have a mysterious BORTHWICK connection to my SANDERSON line: a Helen BORTHWICK turns up from time to time - she was witness at a SANDERSON wedding in 1871, and a child of a different marriage was named Helen Borthwick SANDERSON. Would it be a coincidence that the head of the family, Peter SANDERSON, also at one time lived near the Pleasance, and was also associated with the whisky trade? Liz
