The above lived in Canongate, they married in St Cuthbert's church in 1816. Issue: Isobella born 1817, Walter b 1820, Alexander b 1824, Francis b 1830, George b 1827 and John b 1833. The above were in the 1851 Census for St Cuthbert's, Canongate, but when I tried for them in the 1861 and 1871...there didn't seem to be a census for St Cuthbert's (as such). I ordered in a few census films for surrounding areas...with no results. Alexander, George and John seem to be very popular [McKay] names in Edinburgh and would be hard to pin down..which leaves Walter and Francis. Walter went to New Zealand, and then on to NSW Australia. He married produced a family and died in NSW.....that leaves Francis. Are any of the above details familiar to anyone on the list?
