Listers...to honour our comrades in these tumultuous time, we owe it to them to get on with life as "usual," if it could ever approach that. Personally, I am going to delete all files for the remainder of the week and then start up with my usual whining and complaining for data next week. I need to go into retreat and do some "powerful cogitating." Over 400 listers responded in the affirmative to my mailing and to those of others. That just about makes up the majority of listers. I have noted 5 listers upset about something, not sure what. Two retracted their earlier sentiments and I was just unapproachable. Out of respect for our varied levels of disgust and patriotism may I suggest, humbly, for I know that all have expressed strong supportive emotions, that we continue in our efforts to root out those wee bugs in our genealogical files. Like our American brothers and sisters, it is time to get back to work and let the professionals get on with their business. We must not let this creep into our affairs any longer. Passions are beginning to be too close to the surface in some people and things which should be left unsaid are floating to the surface. As a brief aside, this rings awfully similar to ages past when such atrocities were done to our respective ancestors, but on an obviously and relatively lesser scale of destruction and coversion. We might say a prayer, which we never considered before, for those of our kith and kin that suffered long ago from their own ignominy. I did my bit...and am still feeling positive about it. But there is nothing more to be done "in the now," and a lot to be done with the past. Thank you all for your heartfelt sympathies and God Bless the suffered and the suffering.
