    1. [EDB] Richmond's St in 1780 and Edinburgh Parish Query
    2. A G Forman
    3. James Forman a baker in Richmond's Street married Elizabeth Square at St Cuthbert's in 1780. Their first child was baptised at St Cuthbert's but all the rest of their kids in "Edinburgh Parish". Can anyone tell me 1. if West Richmond St (as it is now) is the Richmond's Street of 1780? If not where was it? 2. The extent of "Edinburgh Parish" from 1787. 3. John Forman rented a seat (No 59 2/5) in New Church from Martinmas 1810 for a year for 11 shillings. However on the reverse of the receipt someone has written "Receipt- seat in the High Church to Martinmass 1811". Can anyone say what Church this referred to? (All his children & grandchildren are buried at St Cuthbert's but most children were christened in "Edinburgh Parish"). Would St Giles be referred to as "New Church" (ie perhaps after rebuilding ca 1780?) Andrew Forman Royal Oak Yard, Skipton, N.
