Hi Judy I have just been browsing through the mailing list and noticed that you have been to Jamaica Street in Edinburgh. I have been looking for info on this street as my ggg grandfather lived there in 1826 (I think according to Pigots Directory) and I am hoping that his son was born there around that time. I saw that you mentioned St Stephens and I am going to try and order the Parish Records at the LDS family history centre next week, As I know nothing about this person (Yet!) can you suggest any other churches or chapels close by that might of been used by the residents? Also if I am going to search for Census info would Jamaica street be in the parish of St Stephens? I can not find information about the Edinburgh Parishes only a list of names such as Cannongate and St Cuthbert's etc so I am unsure which parish this falls into.
