Hi List, I am new to the list and was wondering if someone could help me with my research. My grgrgrandfather, Robert Finlayson, was a gardener and in 1874 (the year of his son, Andrew's marriage) he was living in Craig House, near Edinburgh. Now I have found a little about the House (not much) but I do know that at that time, the House was owned by John Hill Burton, the Scottish Historian. I went to my (reasonably) local LDS site and tried to order the 1871 census records for this but I don't know the parish - I thought it was Morningside, but they only have the census records for 1851 and it may be too early for my chap. Is anyone able to help with some information? Cheers Kay Podmore
