Hi Listers, I wonder if SKS would mind looking up the 1851 Old Town printed Index - if they have access to it - for a husband and wife, John and Margaret Brown ages between 20 and 40, John was a Stableman. Their daughter Margaret was b.1851 in Edinburgh but may have missed the census date, and I don't know if she was the first or last in the family. I photocopied the "BROWNS" from the New Town Index but can't see my Browns there, however if I can help anyone else with "BROWNS" in Edinburgh at this time, I'll have a look for you. Many thanks.
