Ann (and list) did you find out who was researching the DONALDSONs as in DONALDSONS Hospital? DONALDSON himself lived in a mansion called Broughton Hall (not to be confused with Broughton House). Nothing like as grand as the hospital but a typical 18thc gentleman's residence, at the time more or less in the country. It has now disappeared under housing, but there are engravings of it. The history of that little nook of Edinburgh is fascinating and I may have some bits and bobs lurking on the hard drive for anyone who is interested.
