Alan, Having just returned from researching in Edinburgh and not up to scratch with the list - I don't know if you have this information already - in 1993 I wrote off to Edinburgh City Archives regarding Craiglockhart poorhouse and hospital (where my granny spent some time). They didn't find info. on her but sent me a copy admission sheet for the period I was interested in (1930s) to "provide a flavour of the many reasons for admission". They also sent a description of its beginnings in 1870 when it replaced the Charity Workhouse at Bristo Port following through to its passing into various administrative hands. The records were deposited in the Edinburgh City Archives in 1964 along with various photographs but are by no means complete. If you are interested I would be very happy to send you by attachment the full description which also gives reference numbers to locate the records within their archives.
