Today I received from an elderly cousin in Fla., letters sent to her mother in America from the family who stayed in Scotland. In one letter dated Dec.2, 1907 it is mentioned going up to Edinburgh for the Fat Stock Show. Whatever could that be? Truly a wonderful find these letters - as I learned of one family member who went to McKeesport, Pa., USA to find his fortune = it didn't happen, but not for lack of trying - and he finally went home to Scotland and served 4 years in the armed forces during WWl.
