I am seeking any and all information on my g-g-g-grandfather John Johnstone, his parents, siblings, etc. John Johnstone married Isabella Swan (or Shiels ??) on April 6, 1849, Edinburgh Parish, Edinburgh. They had at least one child, my g-g-grandfather, David Johnstone, who was born sometime in 1849, as he is listed as being 19 years old at the time of his marriage. David Johnstone married Catherine Vallance 12/31/1868, Edinburgh Parish, Edinburgh Children of David Johnstone and Catherine Vallance Johnstone were: 1. Thomas Vallance Johnstone, born 3/25/1871, Edinburgh Parish, Edinburgh. He emigrated with his brother Alexander around 1895, and married Clara Schweitzer (or Switzer ?) on October 23, 1898 in Newark, NJ 2. John Johnstone, born 12/11/1872, Edinburgh Parish, Edinburgh 3. Agnes Ramage Johnstone, 3/27/1874, Edinburgh Parish, Edinburgh 4. Alexander Ramage Vallance Johnstone (my g-grandfather), was born January 25, 1876, probably also in Edinburgh Parish, Edinburgh. He died on January 21, 1918 at his home in Bloomfield, NJ (USA). He emigrated to the US with his brother Thomas around 1895 and married my g-grandmother Elizabeth Wiggins on October 09, 1897 in Newark, NJ.
