Looking for leads on the family of Ward LAING, who married Catherine WOOD in 1848. They appear to have been living at Leopold Place, Edinburgh in December 1858 when Catherine's mother (Catherine Allan WOOD - nee BLACKADER) died, but are not found on the 1861 census at that location. The WOOD family lived at Jedburgh. The IGI lists the above marriage at both Jedburgh and St Cuthberts, Midlothian. I have presumed that the marriage occurred at St Cuthberts, because that is the later of the two dates. Is that a reasonable assumption? Any suggestions or links would be most welcome.
