The parish of Abercorn is on the south bank of the Forth estuary, just west of Queensferry. In the centre is Hopetoun House and its estate. Abercorn these days is just a few buildings. Lawflat is a building marked on the map just south of the A904, about a mile and a half west of its junction with the A90. Map reference 106777 on Landranger map sheet 65. It has its own drive and does not look big enough to be a farm. Perhaps it is a large house.
