    3. SKS help please. Brick wall has been only partially breached. Mother Mary Cummings, in the entry below needed. Marriage of parents would help identify further info and lines. I am interested in Lauchlan Dempster and Mary Cummings [with an "s"] and their related data...accessible only through the NRH or GRO if anyone has a moment or two left on the metre. Access to the 1831 and 1841 for the area would be of great value as well. I have Lauchlan to the present but nothing to the past. I have nothing of Mary Cummings' details. The second entry below is my entry point. The rest may be family, but I have no way of knowing. If anyone can assist, I would be grateful. 3. Hi Margaret, I do not have your Email address so will enter my message on the site in hope you will be able to view and read my recommendation for a Scottish Researcher. About six months ago I contacted Forrest Anderson in Edinburgh through his Web site http://www.forrestdale.dial.pipex.com/ and he was able to locate a copy of; ==== David Ogilvy's marriage certificate, his apprenticeship record with Signet Library (Law) Edinburgh, the photos ( entered on his/a Web site to view) of David's grave site at Warriston Cemetery Edinburgh. He also had a quick lookup for additional information on the Ogilvys. A very helpful person and the feed back was quick and excellent!!! His charges were not expensive!!! I must contact him myself again as I have now come across some more additional information which may help him locate for me some items/records on my family of the Ogilvy's. 1. [EDB] BORTHWICK Family - One Name Study
    2. Ann Carson
    3. Dear Listers I had such a great response to my last message advising about my One Name Study that I thought I would post once more. I have been researching my own BORTHWICK family for a few years now but recently had a moment of great madness and registered to do a One Name Study! Hence this message to all the areas where I believe there are BORTHWICKS, with apologies for duplications to those on multiple lists. I have a Borthwick site at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~anncarson/ where, aside from information about my own family, I am posting all the Borthwick information I have collected and have been generously given by others - mostly email friends I have met via these Rootsweb lists. I would love to hear from anyone on these lists with a BORTHWICK in their family. I would also be grateful for any BORTHWICK information at all that people are willing to share with other researchers by posting it. There is a site map but if it is too time-consuming to look through my site to see what is missing (heaps!) I would be happy to tell you by email whether I do or don't already have any information you may be willing to share. Niddrie House Parish of Libberton and Miss Ann Carnegie residing at Dalry House, daughter of the late Sir James Carnegie have been three times proclaimed in order to marriage and no objections have been offered" I have such a small amount of information to go on at the moment re the CHISHOLMS. Unfortunately all I have re Isabella Chisholm, who married my John BORTHWICK in 1822, is that she lived at No 10 Broughton St, Edinburgh in April 1822 & that her father was Thomas Chisholm, a merchant of Edinburgh, who had died before April 1822. I've kept your list of Chisholms just in case I can connect up later. Thank you for sending it. 1. [EDB] Re-Re-Rutherford family,Edinburgh
    2. Brian & Dianne Dixon
    3. Thankyou to the lister who answered my query regarding my Rutherford family in Edinburgh, 1860's onwards. However they did not post their name so I'll just say hello, The following is all that I have so far:- John Rutherford was born 1831/32 (his birth/christening, I have been unable to locate so far) possibly at Maxton, Roxburghshire. He is living with his parents, Robert Rutherford and Elisabeth Oliver at 29 Thistle Street Edinburgh for the 1861 census, aged 29 yrs and his occupation is listed as a Joiner. John married Isabella Sinclair 24th July 1862 at 24 East cramond Street, Edinburgh after banns according to the terms of the church of Scotland. Isabella Sinclair was a daughter of Alexander Sinclair and Christian Swanson. John and Issabella were to have 9 children. Elizabeth b 28.3.1863 Christina b 27.6.1864 Robert b 24.4.1866 d 1939 (?) Helen Oliver b28.2.1868 Alexander b26.3.1870 John b 30.1.1872 George Oliver b 28.3.1874 d 1875 Isabella b 1876 William b1879 John Rutherford died 26 June 1880 at 58 Broughton Street Edinburgh. Bessie Rutherford his daughter was the informant on his death certificate. John's father Robert, also died in 1880 on the 15th Feb. at N. Brunsfield Place, Edinburgh. Isabella Rutherford nee Sinclair is listed in the 1881 census for Edinburgh as the head and widow and living at 58 Broughton Street. The children listed that night were , Bessie, Christina, Robert, Alexander, John, Isabella, and William. Their daughter Helen was with her Uncle, Oliver Rutherford and his wife Mary on that night. I have not looked up this line of my family in the 1891 census and I am not sure where John and his father Robert were buried. This is all that I have on this branch of my family tree. I would love to hear from the lister who answered my listing and also if there are any descendants from this family out there or anyone researching this family. Regards, from a very unusual warm Christchurch (for a change), Dianne Dixon, New Zealand.
