Hi listers Just wondering if anyone with access to the 1881 census CD would be able to do a lookup for me for the following family? This is the information from the 1841 census, so it is likely that William Robertson snr would be dead (or 90 years old!). Some of the girls would no doubt be married and possibly have different surnames, too. ROBERTSON William M 50 Blacksmith East Lothian ROBERTSON William (Junior) M 15 Apprentice Blacksmith East Lothian ROBERTSON Jane F 10 East Lothian ROBERTSON Ann F 9 East Lothian ROBERTSON George M 7 East Lothian ROBERTSON James M 6 East Lothian ROBERTSON Helen F 5 East Lothian ROBERTSON Elisabeth F 3 East Lothian ROBERTSON Thomas M 1 East Lothian STENHOUSE Helen F 30 East Lothian In 1841 they were all living in Dunbar Burgh, at the foot of Silver Street. I have Helen Robertson's census details, who married a William Robb in 1859, and is my ggg-grandmother, but I am interested to see what happened to her siblings (and parents, if possible). Thanks for any assistance! Riley Jones Melbourne, Australia
Hi, I had a look at the 1881Census for your Robertsons, without much success, I am afraid. One suitable William, b 1801, b.Dunbar, retired clothier, (could have changed his profession.) He was widowed, had servant catherine Barclay, 62yrs, at 2 Delisle St Dunbar. Looked for the children, boys mainly and found these two. George Bishop Robertson, b 1833, 48yrs, Manure Merchant, b Dunbar, wife Eleanor, 42 yrs, born Blairgowrie, Perth, at 1 Windsor St Edinburgh Greenside. James, 45 yrs a slater, b Dunbar, wife, Mary 43, b Dunbar. Kids Peter 15, b Dunbar Nathaniel, 13, b Edinburgh Richard 11, Edinburgh Mary 9, Edinburgh Martha 7,Edinburgh Agnes 5, b Dunbar Helen 15, Dunbar James 3 mths Dunbar. Hope this helps, as altogether there were 18, 468 Robertsons in the area! regards, Yvonne Riley Jones wrote: >Hi listers > >Just wondering if anyone with access to the 1881 census CD would be able >to do a lookup for me for the following family? > >This is the information from the 1841 census, so it is likely that >William Robertson snr would be dead (or 90 years old!).
