I was in the Adelaide library a few days ago and decided to have a look for yur Robert Caraill. This is what I have found:- EMMIGRATION APPLICATION. (In those days, people from overseas could apply for a free passage by ship to South Australia. That's what Robert did) EMMIGRATION APPLICATION. Robert Caraill, agricultural labourer of Kingston, East Lothian, aged 27yrs, married, wife (unnamed) aged 17yrs applied for a free passage to South Australia on the 22nd July 1839. Their application No. was 2308, and embarkation No. was 3724. They arrived in South Australia in the 6th February 1840 aboard the "Rajasthan". We do not have passenger lists for ALL the ships which came here, and unfortunately the Rajasthan is one of the ships whose passenger list no longer exists.
