I also have a James Gordon who was at the time of the Census in 1881 at David William Gordon's and his sister Isabella. James was marked as Nephew....... who's I don't know. He was 16 at the time, so he had of been born around 1865. There is also a James Allan Gordon born 1897 and married in 1920 he died in scotland in 1973 Falkland Fife. He has one child that I am a where of and his name is James Gordon. John gordon who married Helen Grieve in 1873 her parents where William Grieve and Isabella White. From what I can see she has a sister Margaret and a brother Alexander who was born in 1857 the 7 of March. Where does your Helen Grieve come in ?? And your James Allan Gordon?? What year was he born? Let me know if this was any help ! The Census I mentioned was 1891 as for Helen and Jane I don't know what happened to them during that time but helen was born in 1854 and Jane was born in 1860.
