Hi List, I happily became the new guardian of a book that has been part of the family since 1889 entitled : The National Burns, printed to help celebrate the first centeniary of the bard's death. In it were two tickets which my relatives may have missed checking to see if they were winners - could someone check? :) I found them to be an interesting reflection of the agrarian lifestyle then , and replicate the tickets here for the enjoyment by the list. You might even find a relative noted as a member of the committee ! Under the auspices of the Duns Ornithological Society. A GRAND DRAWING OF PRIZES (ON THE ART UNION PRINCIPLE) will take place in THE TOWN HALL , DUNS On 23rd JANUARY 1891, at Eight o'clock p.m, __________ This drawing has been organized by the Committee of the above Society, to rasie a fund in aid of the Widow and Five Children of FRANCIS PAXTON, Duns, who met with a Fatal Accident at Cumledge Mills, on 29th October , 1890.
