    3. Derek, I have a Beatrix Nisbet born about 1695 in Garvald, but this is my first Nisbet, so info is a bit thin. The only info I have at present is in the original message. The weir connection stems from Roxburgh. I have an Eleanor Weir b 28.7.1855 in Jedburgh, married to David Jeffrey b abt 1851 Swinton Bew, on 29.5.1882. Eleanor's parents were William Weir and Margaret Ann Dobson. According to the 1881, they were both born in England, but have not been able to trace them as yet. The Cockburn name comes from Elspeth Cockburn b 27.9.1761 Kelso Roxburgh, she married a Robert Jaffrey about 1785, not found. Elspeths parents were David Cockburn and Jane Davidson, but no details on these either. I realise these are probably not from your lot, but you never know, someone might want to own them. I have a Alison Nisbet marrying a James Weir from around 1820's Haddington or Garvald, Isabella Nisbet marrying a James Yule in Hutton, berwickshire 1813. David Cockburn marrying a Isobel Wood around 1810's Coldingham and Helen Cockburn marrying James Yule in Coldingham, Berwickshire around 1840's. Sorry these dates aren't accurate as My notes are elsewhere. do these people appear in your lineage. If your Weir's are from East Lothian what is there lineage, it could help to identify my next step, even though they are not related to my lot. >From: "Roger White" <[email protected]> >Reply-To: [email protected] >To: [email protected] >Subject: Re: [SCT-EAST-LOTHIAN] Nisbet + Bathgate >Date: Mon, 25 Feb 2002 22:47:03 -0000 > >Jill, > >I don't know whether you can help with my Nisbet, from your line.
