Hi All One family in my tree emigrated together in 1859 to the USA as part of a sort of Mormon Package deal. They were from Whittingham Par in East Lothian and their names were James McCarter, his wife Elizabeth Dickson and three of their children, Agnes, John Dickson and Elizabeth. Before long the three children were all married and produced 41 children in the Salt Lake City area, 32 of whom survived infancy. By my reckoning this means I may have as many as 15,000 living relatives in the USA today. Are you one of them? The family feature heavily in the Ancestral file and in various trees I have seen on Rootsweb, Gencircles etc. James McCarter is my first cousin 4 times removed! cheers Bruce McArthur Newcastle upon Tyne England
