Hi Carol, Had a look for your BARRIEs. The only Haddington birth showing in East Lothian is for Robert, born Haddington, age 35 a Bathmaker, wife Agnes, age 36 and son David, age 8. Would that be the correct family? Could your relations moved south? Your Thomas MOFFAT was easier to find. His birthplace is given as Prestonkirk, age 42, Head, Joiner, wife Marharet MOFFAT, age 41, born Crailing, Roxburgh, Scotland. Also son Alexander MOFFAT, age 15, born Edinburgh. Their address in 1881 was 16 Panmure Place, Edinburgh St Cuthberts, Edinburgh. Hope this is of some help.
