Given the naming of their children (first girl Jean, second boy James) my best guest would be the Helen Burns born in Gifford and christened on 23 Sept 1770 to James Burns and Jean Dickson. The age would be right as well. I'd suggest looking at the witnesses to the marriage and birth of the children to confirm this if possible. I have no record of the marriage of James and Jean, but they had four children that I'm aware of: Agnes Burn christened 18 jan 1769 in Gifford Helen Burn christened 23 sep 1770 in Gifford John Burn christened 29 aug 1773 in Gifford George Burn christened 30 july 1775 in Garvald There may be other children elsewhere, but that is what I have. Let me know what you find out from witnesses if you look them up.
